of the Wood
THE STORY BEGINS…
In the days after King Arthur’s passing, the good men who defended righteousness were scattered from their lords, severed from their fealties. Disbanded to new allegiances, these lord-less knights were employed by wicked kings and met their fates in petty feuds, or wandered so long as bandits that they were no longer knights, but beggars on the road. England lapsed into the womb of forgetfulness. Druids went freely between villages, gathering new faithful for the old gods, preaching the bargain of blood—until such time as any good man whom Arthur knew would draw up his courage, for God’s own sake.
